AGROMIX #AskAScientist Q&A Session

On Tuesday 17th May 2022, AGROMIX held a unique Q&A session called #AskAScientist, answering questions gathered from the project’s followers via social media, within the framework of EURAF2022.

The questions ranged from introductory topics such as ‘What is agroforestry?’, and ‘Can we feed the world using regenerative farming?’, to technical questions about which factors determine fast tree establishment in different regions, and how to match plant species.

The questions were answered by four experts in agroforestry:

  • Patrick Worms - President of the European Agroforestry Federation (EURAF),
  • Anastasia Pantera - Professor at the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment Management, Agricultural University of Athens, Greece,
  • Bohdan Lojka - Professor at the Department of Crop Sciences and Agroforestry, Czech University of Life Sciences, and,
  • Dagnija Lazdina, Senior Researcher at the Latvian State Forest Research Institute "Silava”.

AGROMIX is now working to create an Agroforestry Handbook based on the questions gathered for the #AskAScientist campaign, which will serve as an informative guide for regenerative farming enthusiasts, practitioners, researchers, and policymakers alike.

The session recording is free to be shared openly.
