This factsheet is intended for agricultural entrepreneurs, advisers and policymakers. Agroforestry in combination with arable farming, in which nut or fruit-producing trees are cultivated, is a completely new cultivation system for the Netherlands. This production system offers opportunities for economic diversification and sustainability of the arable farm. Due to the limited experience with these cultivation systems, there are numerous challenges and questions for entrepreneurs and researchers to answer. Wtih what costs and revenues have to be taken into account? And how can this be calculated in the farm operating budget? In this factsheet we provide the first insights of the potential yields of silvoarable agroforestry in The Netherlands with a few example trees and shrubs.
