AGFORWARD (AGroFORestry that Will Advance Rural Development) was a major European research and development project (2014-2018) that promoted the use of agroforestry across Europe.  The project outputs included an assessment of the area of agroforestry in Europe, the creation of innovation and best practice worksheets derived from 40 stakeholder groups, modelling of the effects of an expansion of agroforestry on carbon sequestration and other ecosystem services, and recommendations for policy.
